Yesterday was a meetup of « Free drawing in the capital P ». One of the (many) reason why those meetups are great is that we never know what will happen, and it’s always full of surprises. Dov is suggesting an idea, then we use that idea to draw.
Why I like it:
- This initial idea is taking multiple directions depending on who is drawing (depending on his style, mood, feelings, …) .
- This is a very good way to try something new, to get out of our natural scope, to break our silly unconscious norms.
- I like the process it involes for me: (1)- surprise, (2)- reflexion (how to do it?), (3)- experiment, (4)- when the result is good, continue in the same way, (5)- go back to (2) with a new idea and start again.
- The result is a mix of good and less good things. I learn a lot from good things: what is working well, but even more from less good things (what does not work, what to change to make it works?)
